Making organic farming accessible to all

Mahatma Gandhi once said "Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy". This has never been more true than it is today. We are one of the world's most self sufficient countries in food production, and this was made possible by the Green Revolution of the 1960s. Under the able guidance of agricultural scientist Mr. M.S. Swaminathan, our farmers implemented the use of mechanized farming techniques, high yield seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides to resounding success. However, we soon realized that the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides was a double-edged sword. The environmental and health impacts of these harmful chemicals have been widely discussed for the past two decades and consumers are more conscious of what they consume today.
